Ben Shapiro joined Breitbart as editor-at-large in 2012, but left the site during the height of the 2016 campaign, saying Breitbart had become too friendly with the Trump campaign. "When a news outlet decides that it is more important to maintain close ties to a particular candidate or politician than it is to maintain the integrity of their journalists, that is no longer a journalistic organization," says Shapiro. "It is now a propaganda platform."
